I’m honoured and a little nervous to be a panelist at EmpowerHER Scarborough this Saturday, November 8. This free community event brings together physicians, survivors, and advocates to talk about breast and reproductive health with a focus on the experiences of Black women.
Almost two years ago, I was given just a few days' notice before undergoing a total hysterectomy. It was scary but necessary after decades of menstrual pain and fibroids, pain that too many of us carry quietly. This panel is about breaking that silence and making space for our stories, our healing, and our health.
If you’re in the Toronto area, there are only a few spots left out of 150. Come for the conversation, stay for the community, and leave with knowledge that could change lives.
